Version v1.6.0 Release Notes (March 2026)

• Auto algorithm improvements:
  • (Pro Version) Advanced result optimization: an optional post-processing step that runs after the automatic calculation to further reduce the number of sheets used. Enabled by default; can be toggled in Settings → Calculation tab.
  • (Pro Version) Column Generation optimizer: an optional experimental post-processing step that uses Gilmore-Gomory column generation to iteratively discover better cutting patterns guided by LP dual prices. Disabled by default; can be enabled in Settings → Calculation tab.
• Manual algorithm improvements:
  • Smarter pruning of combinations during sheet layout generation. The algorithm now skips combinations that cannot possibly improve on the current best solution, resulting in faster calculation times — especially noticeable on jobs with many different part types. The number of skipped combinations is shown as “OF: N” in the status bar during manual calculation.
• Performance: large projects (6000+ parts) load and save significantly faster with progress indicator and optimized statistics calculation.
• Save/Load in JSON: project files (.cmr) can now be saved in JSON format in addition to XML. The format is selectable in Settings → Save/Load tab. On load, the format is auto-detected automatically.
• Cancel button added to the progress dialog during automatic calculation.
• Interface scale control: choose between three scale sizes (Normal, Medium, Large) in Settings for better usability on high-resolution screens.
• Export project data to JSON format for easy integration with external tools and APIs.
• 8 new language translations added: Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Czech, Romanian, Russian, Hungarian, and Bulgarian.
• Bug fixes:
  • Fix decimal separator issues in area calculations and float parsing.
  • Fix JSON load skip flags and ANSI/UTF-8 encoding.
  • Fix XML save overwriting existing files.
  • Fix Save As dialog showing full path instead of basename.
  • Manual calculation produced suboptimal layouts when parts tile exactly to the sheet boundary with no saw kerf (e.g. glass cutting). The algorithm was incorrectly rejecting combinations whose combined size equalled the panel dimension, preventing perfect-fit solutions from being found.
